Informaton on the Costs of Jobs

The cost for Farriery Treatment is based on a horse that we consider to be a good citizen and is co-operative (stands well & without objection for Farriery Treatment), with feet that are in good shape & condition.

A horse that we consider to be exhibiting unco-operative behavior (Does Not Stand Well & Without Objection for Farriery Treatment) (pulling/jerking/kicking/playing up of any type), not only makes the job physically harder but also increases the danger and risk of injury to us and the horse.

Horses that are Unco-operative will be at a cost greater than a Cooperative Horse.

Corrective work (long hooves, hoof problems, movement or soundness issues, Founder & Laminitis will result in the work taking longer and therefore will have an increase in the price, from a standard job.

The cost of shoes, pads, hoof packing etc are a separate cost, due to the great variance in the individual cost of specific shoes & materials.

If I arrived for the booked appointment but am unable to start the work due to the Gate being Locked, Horses not caught or the customer Forgetting or Unco-operative or Dangerous behavior. There will be a charge to cover the time spent in travel and for the appointment time. (Prior notification of at least an hour, would avoid the unnecessary time driving and a wasted appointment time)

After Hours Fee

After hours(5.00pm - 9.30pm) $100.00 + traveling + the cost of work undertaken

Traveling 50c per km

Prices are subject to change without notice, due to increased in costs (e.g. fuel, materials etc).

I reserve the right to charge what I feel is appropriate for the time, effort and expertise that has been put into doing the job

I reserve the right to refuse to work on any horse if I feel that it is unsafe in any way and/or to discontinue working on any horse, at any time if I feel it is unsafe. You will ONLY be charged for the work already undertaken.

Unco-operative ( DOES NOT Stand Well & Objects to Farriery Treatment )

An UNCOOPERATIVE horse is one that may pull, jerk or snatch their foot away. Dancing around or generally playing up.

This behavior will incur extra costs due to the increased danger of injury to US or the horse.

Horses that Kick are considered Dangerous and we may refuse to continue work.

The Quality of the Job and Finish WILL be affected by uncooperative behaviors.

If I am injured, it will make it difficult to care for my other customers horses.

Cooperative ( Stands Well & Without Objection for Farriery Treatment )

A Horse that does not pull, jerk or snatch their foot away, dance around or generally play up.

The Quality and Finish of the job are improved, and the horse does not propose a danger to either me or itself.

I only have 1 back and it's NOT replaceable.

Natural Balance Shoeing & Natural Balance Barefoot Trim

Prices are based on a Cooperative Horse with Good Feet.

Young horses undergoing their first shoeing, We allow an extra 15 minutes
